DoCoMo tests 4G network
"While most of the world is still waiting for 3G networks to reach critical mass to become useful, Japan's NTT DoCoMo is busy running tests on a 4G network. So far their latest tests top out at 300 Mbps peak and 135 Mbps average throughput, while in motion with line of site. That blows past any current wireless technology and most wired technologies as well, yet is still far short of the ITU's 4G definition of 1 Gbps standstill and 100 MBps while moving. The line of sight issue is also a problem, especially for users in urban areas. "
