i-mode grows to 3 million users outside Japan
"NTT DoCoMo has announced that its i-mode service has now reached 3 million subscribers just via international partners. Although originally based in Japan, NTT's i-mode data and content service has started growing to other countries via partnerships with carriers in Greece, Italy, Spain, Germany, Taiwan, and other countries. As of the end of June 2004, there were over 3 million i-mode subscribers not counting those in Japan, just four months after i-mode service reached the 2 million subscriber mark."
